We do not sell, and we do not share.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act & California Privacy Rights Act, businesses must allow residents to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. WindowMaps does not do either — but this page exists so you can confirm that, exercise your rights, and adjust how the site behaves.
“We sell commissions, not information.”
What we do
When you inquire, we collect your name, email address, any phone you supply, your stated location, your message, and the budget / timeline you select. We use that information for one purpose — to reply to you, and (if you opt in) to send the Studio Letter. If you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage statistics are sent to Google Analytics with your IP address masked.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information for money or for other valuable consideration.
We do not share your personal information with any third party for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not build advertising profiles, do not use re-targeting pixels, and do not run marketing cookies of any kind.
We do not enrich your record with data brokered from third parties, and we do not allow third parties to access our customer records for their own marketing.
What this means in practice
You do not need to opt out of selling or sharing — because there is nothing being sold or shared in the first place. The legal opt-out link is on every page (in the footer) because California law requires it to be visible regardless of whether we sell data. This is good for transparency: it gives you a single, clear place to confirm.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser or operating system sends the Global Privacy Control signal — a header that says “treat this as an opt-out request” — we honour it automatically. You will not see the cookie banner. Analytics will not load. Marketing and functional storage will be denied. We treat GPC as a binding opt-out under CCPA / CPRA, as the law requires.
Confirm your preferences
Use the button below to review and adjust your cookie preferences. You can also reset all stored choices — useful if you have shared a device.
Exercise your other rights
In addition to the right to opt out of sale/sharing, you also have the right to:
· Know what personal information we hold about you.
· Receive a copy of it in a portable, machine-readable format.
· Correct any inaccuracies.
· Delete your information.
· Limit our use of sensitive personal information (we collect none).
· Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of work because you exercised a right.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected] with the subject line “CCPA request”. We respond within 30 days, usually within two working days. You may designate an authorised agent to make the request on your behalf; we will need a signed authorisation.
We verify your identity by matching the email address you provide against records we hold. For sensitive requests (deletion, portability), we may ask additional verification questions before we proceed.
Other US states
Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), Delaware (DPDPA), Iowa (ICDPA), New Hampshire (NHDPA), New Jersey (NJDPA), Montana (MCDPA), Tennessee (TIPA), and Indiana (INCDPA) have substantially similar rights. The same email address handles all requests; please mention your state in the subject line.
Verifying this
You can verify the claims on this page by reading our privacy notice for the complete list of processors, and our cookie notice for the complete list of cookies set by the site. Both pages are written in plain language, without legalese, and are updated whenever anything material changes.
